Steve Novak

Steve Novak is an experienced lawyer with a broad background across multiple areas of practice, including property, commercial, criminal, family law, and wills and estates. He works with individuals, businesses, and not-for-profit organisations, including churches and church denominations, providing practical and well-rounded legal advice.

Steve completed his Bachelor of Laws at Deakin University in 2009, followed by a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Leo Cussen Institute in 2010. He was admitted to practice in 2011 and began his legal career at McCracken and McCracken Lawyers, where he practised for 15 years. Steve joined Wakefield Lawyers in 2026 and is a valued member of the firm’s property team. He advises clients across a range of matters, including property transactions, family law, wills and estates, and general commercial matters.

Steve takes a client-focused approach, working closely with individuals to understand their circumstances and concerns. Steve places a strong emphasis on ensuring his clients understand the legal framework surrounding their matter, enabling them to make informed decisions and move forward with confidence. Steve is based at the firm’s Drouin office but also attends the Warragul office weekly for client appointments.

Outside of work, Steve enjoys spending time with his family. Born and raised in Melbourne, he now lives locally with his wife, a Warragul native, and their two children. He enjoys staying active, whether on the trail or in the water, and has a keen interest in reading.
