Rachel Arldt

Lawyer

Rachel Arldt is a dedicated and detail-oriented lawyer with a passion for delivering practical, solution-focused legal advice. Having grown up in Gippsland, Rachel has strong ties to the local community and brings a genuine understanding of the region’s values and needs to her legal practice. After completing her secondary education at Drouin Secondary College in 2016, she went on to study a double Bachelor of Laws and Criminology at Deakin University, graduating in July 2022.

Rachel joined Wakefield Lawyers in 2021, initially working within the firm’s conveyancing team. During this time, she assisted clients with a wide range of residential and commercial sale and purchase transactions, developing a strong foundation in property law. She completed her legal traineeship with the firm across 2022 and 2023, where she developed a particular interest in Commercial Law and Litigation. Rachel was admitted to legal practice in September 2023 and has continued to build her experience across a broad spectrum of dispute resolution, commercial and property matters.

Rachel assists clients in retail, commercial and agricultural farm leasing matters, acting for both landlords and tenants alike. She supports clients through all aspects, including: new leases, renewals, transfers of leases, reviews, and any disputes that may arise.

In property, Rachel deals regularly with complex land transactions.  Given her high level of knowledge, and ability to deal with complexities, Rachel is skilled in advising on complex property transfers including stamp duty exemptions for transfers involving Self-Managed Superannuation Funds, discretionary trusts, and family farms. Rachel also handles adverse possession claims, and subdivisions and easements, which includes navigating the process of compiling and lodging these applications. She also frequently prepares and advises on Loan Agreements, including security options to protect lenders.

Rachel particularly loves supporting her commercial clients, such as acting for vendors and purchasers in sales of business, share subscription and share sale transactions, drafting shareholder agreements and establishing family and unit trusts, as well as advising on appropriate business structures and asset protection strategies. She regularly reviews a wide range of contractual agreements, including those relating to commercial operations and employment matters, ensuring her clients fully understand their rights and obligations. Rachel thrives on the tricky stuff, where her high level of knowledge and legal research, along with her meticulous approach, ensures quality service for her clients.

Known for her reliability and thorough approach, Rachel is someone her colleagues and clients trust and depend on. She takes great pride in building strong professional relationships and is dedicated to delivering high-quality service in every matter she handles

For me, the most rewarding part of being a lawyer is building lasting relationships with clients and guiding them through challenges with clarity and confidence. Knowing I’ve made a positive impact, no matter how big or small, is what drives me every day.
