Karlee Driessen

Receptionist

Karlee is a born and bred local who completed her VCE studies at Marist-Sion College before going on to work as a policy adviser and electorate officer for a federal member of parliament. Over four years in that role, while simultaneously completing university studies, she developed a deep understanding of the Gippsland community and the issues that matter most to residents in the region. The position required her to think laterally and critically across a wide range of portfolios, preparing speeches and media releases. These skills have proven highly transferable to the legal industry as she now looks toward completing her practical legal training and being admitted to practice in the future.

She recently completed a Bachelor of Laws/Criminology at Deakin University in November 2025. With a keen interest in Wills and Estates, Commercial Law and Family Law, she is eager to continue building her knowledge and gaining hands-on experience in the profession.

Joining Wakefield Lawyers in 2025, she is based full-time in the Drouin office as the first point of contact for clients. Her role includes managing bookings, following up draft documents and ensuring clients feel welcome from the moment they walk in the door. She also provides valuable administrative support to the lawyers and helps clients determine which member of the team is best placed to assist with their legal needs.

Outside of work, Karlee describes herself as a bit of a bookworm who enjoys spending time in her vegetable patch and passionately supports the Richmond Tigers. She loves the outdoors and can often be found with a coffee in hand while exploring new walking tracks around the area.

Legal matters can often be complex and confusing, so I value being able to make that process a little less intimidating for clients when they first call. I love that I am always learning in my role, and being able to assist clients from the start to the end of their journey with our firm is so rewarding.
