Ashleigh Fitzgerald joined Wakefield Lawyers in 2024, bringing with her a diverse academic background and a passion for delivering clear, thoughtful legal support. After completing her primary and secondary education in Sale, VIC, Ashleigh pursued a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Creative Writing and Arabic at Deakin University, graduating in 2011. She then went on to earn her Master of Laws (Juris Doctor) from Monash University in 2020, followed by the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at Leo Cussen in 2021. Ashleigh was admitted to practice later that year.

Before joining the team at Wakefield Lawyers, Ashleigh worked at another firm in Gippsland in the areas of criminal law and intervention orders. She would represent clients in the Magistrate’s Court most days, ensuring a high level of expertise in these areas. As a lawyer at Wakefield Lawyers, Ashleigh works across a range of legal matters, focusing on criminal law, intervention orders, and family law (including Divorce, Binding Financial Agreements, property settlements, and parenting matters).

Ashleigh takes a hands-on approach to her work, helping clients navigate their cases by providing clear advice, anticipating the flow-on effects of legal matters, and offering the best strategies for resolution. With a strong background in criminal law and intervention orders, Ashleigh is a strong advocate in court, always prioritising a holistic approach to her clients' legal challenges.

Based in the Warragul office, Ashleigh dedicates herself to supporting her clients through every step of the legal process.

Outside of work, Ashleigh enjoys sewing, reading, and spending time outdoors with her wife and dog, especially on camping trips.
