Sean Linehan

Sean joined Wakefield Lawyers in 2025, bringing with him a wide-ranging background of court administration and private-practice experience. He began his career in the Victorian court system, working in the Senior Master’s Office (Funds in Court) at the Supreme Court of Victoria from 1999 until 2008, before serving as a Judge’s Associate at the same Court from 2008 to 2012. In 2012 he transitioned to private practice as a solicitor with Oakley’s Law (now Prior Law) in Korumburra, where he gained extensive experience until moving to Wakefield Lawyers in 2025. He holds a Bachelor of Arts/Law from La Trobe University, awarded in 2011.

Based in the firm's Warragul office, Sean practices in Family Law, Criminal Law, Intervention Orders and general Litigation. Clients can expect clear, strategic and practical legal advice delivered with empathy and professionalism. He is approachable and proactive, committed to guiding clients through what are often stressful and uncertain times with care and clarity.

Sean is a father of two and married to a veterinarian. He enjoys family time, especially travelling in the caravan. He also loves watching movies and sports (particularly AFL and baseball), reading, playing board games and building Lego with his children.

Working in a rural community, I find that the work you do genuinely matters to clients as does the connection and trust that comes from them engaging you and the relationship that follows.  Clients are not just a number or a file they are people whose life I believe you can meaningfully impact with the work that you do for them.
